Our support to Actions@village

In September 2023, Morocco suffered a major earthquake that destroyed many Berber villages.

Morroco being at the heart of our Fall-Winter 2024 collection, it seemed obvious to us that we needed to get involved in this cause. We decided to offer our support to Actions@Village, by dedicating the Orientalist collection to this meaningful partnership.

Founded in 2017 by Fatima Zohra Khayar and her husband Mohammed El Mouedden, Actions@Village is a Belgian non-profit organization working for the development of rural areas in Morocco, mainly in the High and Middle Atlas regions.

In keeping with the philosophy of our previous partnerships, we decide to donate 5% of the sales of the candles and diffusers of the Orientalist collection, which will be dedicated to the construction of sanitary blocks for schools in the High Atlas, focusing on access to education for little girls in the villages.

The combat of actions@village

The aim is to promote education and health for children from underprivileged backgrounds, with a particular focus on getting girls into school. For more than five years, the association has been active in the field, offering immediate and sustainable solutions to rural populations faced with economic insecurity and food, health and education shortages. The projects are supported by local partners who run programs in the field, respecting local traditions and culture to help empower the population.

The story of our partnership

We met Fatima Zohra through artist and photographer Serge Anton, who had taken part in a healthcare expedition in the Atlas Mountains with a group of ophthalmologists who treated patients suffering from blindness. What could be more wonderful than regaining sight? Touched by this beautiful story and by the bright personalities of Actions@Village’s leaders, we decided, with Serge Anton and Fatima Zohra, to dedicate the Orientalist collection to the non-profit, donating a percentage of our sales to buy sanitary blocks for schools in the Atlas.

Supported by Serge Anton’s photographic talent, the Orientalist collection will thus shine a light through the glass that, in a moment of awareness, simply reminds us that the object can allow hundreds of little girls to take the road to school.
