To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Maison Pierre Marcolini, Baobab Collection has partnered with the Master Chocolatier to create three limited-edition scented candles, where craftsmanship and fragrance subtly reflect one another.
This encounter between two Belgian Maisons, driven by a passion for savoir-faire, noble materials and perfected gestures, has given rise to three sensory creations inspired by exceptional terroirs — India, Peru and Madagascar — where Pierre Marcolini sources the rare cocoa beans to craft his chocolate creations. Each scented candle tells its own story and invites you to escape, an olfactive journey that traces the origins of the famous chocolates.
LIME - JASMINE - VETIVER
We’re landing in Lima, capital of Peru and kingdom of ceviche and citrus fruit flavours. This creation pays tribute, through its hand-screen-printed design, to the cocoa beans harvested exclusively in Peru, recognizable by their uniquely precious whiteness.
The scent of the Pérou scented candle emerges as an ambassador of Peruvian flavours, but also as the guardian of an ecosystem where jasmine flourishes near cocoa trees. The freshness of lime, emblematic of Peruvian cuisine, is enhanced by the strength of vetiver wood, with which it fuses. The floral identity of jasmine appears subtly, lending an aromatic dimension to the composition.
INDE SCENTED CANDLE
ROSE - LYCHEE - MUSK
The hand-screen-printed design of the Inde scented candle evokes colourful cocoa pods, subtly recalling the region of Kerala where the cocoa beans are harvested, as well as the multicoloured saris of Indian women, often carrying flower baskets. The roadsides are filled with the perfume of roses mixed with fruit aromas.
The fragrance that rises from the candle pays tribute to this luscious rose that blooms not far from the cocoa fields. The sweet, liqueur-like note of lychee then blends with the florals, resting on a base of powdery musk that gives this creation a particularly sophisticated identity.
MADAGASCAR SCENTED CANDLE
VETIVER - PATCHOULI - YLANG-YLANG
The red earth of Madagascar allows the rarest essences to thrive. A true open-air garden, the island brings together flora and fauna in perfect balance, where ylang-ylang and vetiver form a harmonious ecosystem. The black and gold pattern of the Madagascar scented candle, also hand-screen-printed, reflects the shape of Madagascar’s cocoa beans in a unique composition, embodying both the intensity of cocoa and the richness of a sacred land.
The fragrance opens with floral nuances of ylang-ylang, but the vetiver wood gives it its strength, exploding over a lightly peppery base. Its spicy roundness is also carried by patchouli, the heart note of this creation.
